I'm still on the diet - amazingly, but it's not going as fast as before. New full time job so much less time to go on long walks so obviously I'm going to loose less.
Spring is here soon and I'll be getting out more in the evening and perhaps earlier in the morning before work - so hopefully I'll get back on track soon.
In the meantime, I'm still eating my Dukan oat bran pancake every morning with smoked salmon and a fried egg - very nice. I'm still also sticking to the authorised diet foods, but sometimes have an extra yoghurt or two - no major digressions.

The great stuff is that you are keeping an eye on the diet and losing again. You don't want to put back all you've lost and that is what I have done in the past but not this time!
ReplyDeleteLast 3 weeks have been a bit difficult for me.
I had stabilized at 88 Kgs, maintained the same weight for at least a month!
Then something happened and I got a bit stressed out and for 10 days I ate a lot of things I don't normally eat and I drank beer and wine and even alcohols .. To make it worse, I did very little exercise!
The outcome - I put on 7 kilos!
The good news. I started back on 5 days PP with two days PL and went back to my exercises!
The outcome - I've lost the 7 kilos!
So the good news is, if you do break the diet, just as Dr Dukan says, go back to PP for a while, you can lose what you put on.
I'm a converted Dukan dieter ;-)
Hi J, good to hear from you. What I really miss is doing this diet with my wife. It was very easy doing it together, more difficult by yourself.
ReplyDeleteWell if I had to cook I couldn't do it. Or I could but it would be simply eating from the list of allowed foods and probably eating chicken and surimi and prawns and turkey and lean ham and tongue and veal liver ..OK, OK, I could do it but it would not be as nice as it is now ;-)

Good morning,Good morning,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Magda and I am on Dukan diet almost 2 months. It was going pretty well first few weeks, lost 7kg so far. My husband is doing this diet together. As I said it was going great but now my weight stuck, will not move. I started exercising, nothing major, some running, elliptical, just a standard staff and since I went to the gym my scale will not move. I have read that you guys excursive as well, does it affect your scale? My disadvantage is that it is impossible to get Dukan diet book in USA, I hope maybe I will find it one day but till than I have to rely on internet. Do you have any tips for me? I will be so grateful for any advices.
Hi, Starting today 21st March 2010 with my husband. We are both interested and I need to lose a lot more than he does. Looking forward to getting started and thank you for your encouragement. It is great to read of other people's esperiences before we start.
ReplyDeleteWell the Dukan Diet works - that's the best part. As long as you stick to it you will loose the kilos. Wishing you well with the diet. Why not start a blog or some sort of journal?
ReplyDeleteGood evening,
ReplyDeletejust wanted to let you know that today was my first day with the dukan diet - well I bought the book Je ne sais pas maigrir and have started to read it. From what I have understood so far, I must stick with pur protein for the first 5 days. So today, was ok.
I am 113 kg and would love to go down to 64. Therefore, I must lose 49 kg. And this post has been my inspiration. And hope to find the answers to many questions to come.
Doug, thanks for starting this blog and keep up your good work.

Congratulations on starting the diet. Have you used the Dukan Diet True Weight calculator to see what the good doctor advises for your weight and body type: http://www.dukandiet.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteThis will give you a time-line of what to expect. Remember that you have to stick to the diet to achieve these results.
Hello to all of you,
ReplyDeleteDoug... you gave me the courage to stick to this diet which I started 2.5 months ago. I am 31 years old and started with 96kg! I have already lost 10kg and want to lose 30kg more. The last two weeks I have made many "mistakes" but fortunately only put on 1kg.Today I start all over again!!! Wish me luck and give me some good advice.
For the diet to work you have to stick to it. Sounds simplistic, but it is brutally true.
ReplyDeleteDon't buy any non-diet foods at the supermarket. Get rid of the cakes and biscuits in your cupboards. Don't go out to eat at restaurants unless you are sure you can order something that is on the diet and cooked without fat and oil. No point in ordering steak and chips and leaving the chips - you will be tempted to have some. Order a grilled steak and if you are on PV, order it with some steamed green beans.
At home if you have a family or live with others, try and get them to go on the diet too so you are all on it and eating the same foods.
